A Good Day to Die Hard (2013) torhd torrent movie download and A Good Day to Die Hard yts english subtitles synopsis: Iconoclastic, take-no-prisoners cop John McClane, for the first time, finds himself on foreign soil after traveling to Moscow to help his wayward son Jack - unaware that Jack is really a highly-trained CIA operative out to stop a nuclear weapons heist. A Good Day To Die Hard Rated 12A By BBFC Uncut. And the Blu Ray i've got in the Die Hard Quadrilogy boxset (which is also the theatrical version) is also rated 15. It's about time too considering that the BBC have been showing it uncut for years now. Die Hard 4.0 is the theatrical version rather than the badly dubbed 'Unrated' cut which.

The Film
Jaded cop goes to his nearly estranged wife’s office Christmas party and finds himself having to take on (AKA kill violently) a nasty bunch of charismatic and hirsute terrorist/robber dudes.
I guess the original 1988 Die Hard (now celebrating its 30th birthday) doesn’t sound like much when you boil it down to its brass tacks. But as anyone who’s seen it will know, around that seemingly fragile premise director John McTiernan crafted one of the best action thrillers ever made. Aided and abetted by career-defining turns from Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman.
Blade Runner, and Bram Stoker'sDracula. So it would have been nice to have seen this tried with an action classic such as Die Hard too.
There’s no point crying over spilt channels, though, I guess. And actually the DTS mix isn’t a bad effort, really, considering we’re talking about a film originally released in 1988 in four-channel stereo (though it seems a six-track mix was created for the 70mm print).
If only all Christmas films were like this.

For instance, the score has had its dynamic range opened up fairly nicely, and has been mixed reasonably potently around all of the 5.1 channels. Including in stereo for the rears. Dialogue also sounds more rounded than you might expect from such an old film.
On the downside, while the score has been remixed into surround sound quite effectively, effects haven’t. There are hardly any rear effects, and the front sound stage feels quite narrow by today’s standard.
Also, bass doesn’t reach the sort of depths you get with well-mixed modern action movies, which leaves explosions and crashes lacking a little impact. Finally, some background and ‘throw away’ sound effects can sound quite brittle and thin - relics of the original dynamics, I guess, before the sound was reworked into the more high fidelity mix on show elsewhere.

Extra Features
Sadly, the 4K Blu-ray release only comes with the same extra features released before with the 25th anniversary HD Blu-ray. On the upside, if you haven’t experienced them before those ‘old’ extras are solid.
Die Hard's secondary characters are unusually well rounded, and as a result really contribute to the film's unforgettable tale. And yes, I'm talking about the teddy bear as well as Argyle.

Accompanying the film on the 4K Blu-ray are three separate ‘commentaries’. The first features director McTiernan and production designer Jackson de Govia in a spliced together (rather than them contributing from the same room at the same time) format.

This proves a surprisingly ‘heavy’ commentary, covering lots of high level film-making theory alongside the more typically anecdotes on how particular shots were done. It starts off very well, covering some really fascinating stuff - especially regarding Die Hard’s then-controversial editing style and its European cinema influences.
Both men start to dry up noticeably, though, over the final third, and some of the pontificating gets a bit repetitive. So while I certainly suggest you start it, whether you see it through to the end is up to you.
Commentary two by special effects supervisor Richard Edlund is described as ‘scene specific’. Which is a fancy way of saying that it’s both intermittent and not really a true commentary in the way you’d expect. Rather it appears to be an interview with Edlund that’s been edited over the film.
This approach takes a bit of tuning into. However, once you’ve accepted that it’s more a discussion of special effects theory than a consistent analysis of how specific Die Hard scenes were created, there’s plenty of meaty stuff to get your film fan teeth into.

The Cast And Crew ‘commentary’ also turns out to be pretty far removed from what we usually think of as a commentary. It’s actually a pretty much constant flow of subtitles of statements taken from a wide variety of sources relating to whatever part of the film is being sown. There’s some genuinely fascinating information to be gleaned here for sure, but even so you may well find you lack the stamina to stick with it to the end.
Turning to the HD Blu-ray that accompanies the 4K disc, there’s disappointingly little else to entertain you. Just a slightly weird collection of ‘offshoots’ of Die Hard’s news reel and news studio clips, plus a long but frankly dreary gallery of publicity and behind the scenes stills, and 10 trailers and TV spots.
Verdict
Die Hard remains as riveting and engaging 30 years (and many viewings) on as it did when it first exploded into cinemas in 1988. The only difference now is that it looks unprecedentedly glorious in its new 4K and HDR clothes. Hanc drivers ed final answers.
